PC-Repair

Last week my PC-dear died due to stomach (hard disk) trouble, the demise happened so suddenly w/o any symptoms that we were all stunned. The stomach had gone so bad that the brain (not the CPU but the bios) didn't even acknowledge its presence. Trying German Cuisine (read booting with knoppix CD) also didn't make a difference. Finally, the only resort was to hire a doctor and get the image of existing stomach on to a new stomach and get back to business. But the doctor can't just do that, he is a doctor and not the lab technician for crying out loud. He had to be paid to convince himself that the death was due to stomach upset and not the skeletal (read motherboard) break down. For a moment I wondered why should I pay him to convince himself and not me, well he is a doctor how can he just believe the mortal engineer like me and lose his ~$100. After all these formalities of money transfer the good doc took a couple of minutes and concluded the death is due to stomach upset and not skeletal failure and claimed he can create the image by tuesday and put it on an upgraded stomach (80GB) for my pc-dear. Ofcourse thats at an extra cost.
So, sandhya-ji is totally offline and she gets to read da-vinci code instead.
